Kindergarten

Welcome to the beginning of an exciting journey as your child starts kindergarten! We understand that starting school is a big step filled with new experiences, challenges, and opportunities for growth. Our dedicated team is committed to providing a warm, supportive, and nurturing environment where every child feels safe and valued. We work closely with families to ensure a smooth transition, offering tailored support to help children build confidence, develop social skills, and foster a love of learning from day one. Together, we look forward to celebrating each milestone and creating a positive foundation for your child’s educational journey.

Class Placement

At our school, all families who live in our catchment area will be offered a position. If you live outside our area, please follow the non local enrolment procedure as we may be able to offer your child a placement. Please contact the school for more information.

Our teachers and executive staff take great care to ensure your child is placed in the 'best' class for them. We aim to balance the numbers of children in each class, as well as gender, learning and behavioural needs. Information received from families and early childhood centres, as well as teacher observations during orientation days help us to create balanced classes.

Our class sizes are based on NSW DoE funding models with approximately:

Best Start Assessment

In the first weeks of kindergarten, each child will be asked some questions by a teacher to understand their current literacy and numeracy skills. A report will be shared with families later in Term 1. You don't need to do any preparation for this assessment. Please understand that children develop skills very quickly at this young age, so by the time you get the report, the information may be out of date.

Is my child ready for school?

Children develop skills at different rates. To be ready for school, consider if your child has age-appropriate social skills such as following simple instructions, sharing toys with friends and separating from family. If you are unsure, please have a conversation with your Early Childhood educators and our Executive team.
