Inspire – High potential and gifted education

Some students learn faster and more easily than others. These students may shine in creativity, thinking, leadership or sport.

At our school, we recognise and nurture these strengths early. We support advanced learners with great lessons and activities to help them grow and thrive.

Why choose us for your high potential or gifted child?

Recognising potential and developing talent

Our teachers find potential and nurture our students to be the best they can be.

Tailored lessons

Each student has different abilities. Teachers respond to each student’s ability by providing extra challenges and extension activities to keep learning exciting and engaging.

Rich opportunities and activities

Students can take part in opportunities to develop their talent in the arts, sport, leadership and more.

Opening doors to wider experiences

Our students can participate in a wide range of state-wide opportunities that aim to extend and enrich student potential.

What is high potential and gifted education?

Inspire – High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.

We do this through:

HPGE Domains and Selection

Many students have high potential, and we help that potential to grow into something powerful across all domains. Our teachers find potential and nurture our students to be the best they can be. We foster a culture of high expectations and equity in excellence, ensuring every student, regardless of background, has opportunities to develop their potential into talent.

Creative
Students are provided with opportunities to develop their creative talents through participation in school-based and extracurricular events, enabling them to explore and showcase their abilities in a supportive and enriching environment.
Intellectual
Students demonstrating high intellectual potential may be grouped together in classes to receive targeted challenges in specific subjects, topics, and skills based on ongoing assessment data. Lessons are differentiated to extend their thinking, creativity, and application of learning, ensuring they are consistently engaged and supported to reach their full academic potential.
Physical
Students with exceptional physical skills and talents are identified by leaders and teachers and may be selected to represent the school in various sporting and physical activities. This recognition supports their development, encourages teamwork, and promotes a culture of excellence and healthy competition within the school community. Parents/carers can complete this form to let us know of your child's experience outside of school.
Social Emotional
Leaders and teachers actively identify students who demonstrate strong social-emotional skills and support them in developing leadership capabilities. They guide students to recognise these strengths in their peers, fostering a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes collaboration, resilience, and wellbeing.
